My aunt who’s a make up artist did everyone’s make up for my sisters wedding and I was surprised that she pulled out a bunch of drugstore cosmetics. But according to my aunt its not what brand you wear its how you wear it! NYX just happens to be one of her favourite drug store brands and for good reason. NYX offers high quality products at an affordable price.
I can’t say enough about these Soft Matte Lip Creams! They glide on creamy and dry matte. It’s comfortable to wear and doesn’t dry out my lips. They are long wearing, do not easily transfer, are opaque and vivid in colour. With 22 shades to choose from you’re sure to find one that suits your fancy for every one of your moods.
The first shade swatched is Stockholm described as ‘mid-tone beige pink’ I picked this up because its known to be a dupe for MAC’s Kinda Sexy and sure enough while I was wearing it my sister asked if I finally bought Kinda Sexy. It’s a great nude to pair with a bold look. Next we have Morocco which is described as ‘matte coral-orange’ this is more bright orange red to me. I had to have this colour for the upcoming summer months. I just love an audacious lip. Last but no least we have the shade Athens described as ‘matte peach beige’ I’ve been looking for a go to summer nude and I’d have to say that I’ve found it! This colour is super flattering and will be fabulous with any makeup look.
NYX powder blushes are pigmented, blend beautifully and glides on the face with ease. They last a good 6-8 hours on me without having to reapply. I bought these in the shades Pinched and Silky Rose (I swatched them backwards in the picture above by the way. oops!) Pinched is described as ‘coral pink with gold glitter and iridescence.’ It’s actually known as a dupe for the infamous NARS Orgasm. I don’t own orgasm so I can’t say for sure but this blush is stunning and ads radiance to your cheeks. Silky Rose is described as ‘matte plumy pink’ I have to use a very light hand with this blush or it can look clown like. However applied properly this blush gives a flattering pop of colour.
I’m more than pleased with my NYX goodies I bought everything here for about $50! At such a bargain I cant wait to purchase more!
