Its the most wonderful time of the year and no I don’t mean Christmas. Summer is almost here! Days are getting longer, the suns shining brighter and the weather is getting warmer! Its time to pull out those bright shades and I’ve got the perfect ones for you!
Those of you who have read my previous blogs know that my love affair with makeup began with MAC lipsticks! Well its been awhile since I had purchased any new lipsticks from MAC and thought it was about time to add to my collection! Both of these new lippies are in one of my favourite finishes which is Amplified finish. The texture is so creamy and moisturizing without being sticky. The finish allows for opaque colour and these lipsticks leave a nice stain on your lips despite the fact that they aren’t matte finishes.
So on my middle daughters 4th birthday last week my awesome cousin JR gave me a MAC gift card just cause she loves me that much! Well truthfully she’s had the gift card for 3 years and has never used it and thought I would put it to good use and I did just that! Out of all the lipsticks from the MAC is Beauty collection, Reel Sexy was the only one I really fell in love with. The rest of the lipsticks in the collection were to sheer for my tastes. Lustre is one of my least favourite finishes. Reel Sexy is described as Bright Coral. I don’t disagree with this but I would call it a Bright Pastel Coral. Its simply beautiful! I have a couple coral lipsticks, Vegas Volt, Razzle Dazzle, Kat Von D’s L’ecole Des Femmes, NYX banana split but Reel Sexy is hands down my favourite! For awhile Vegas Volt was my go to for coral lips but now its being replaced by my new love Reel Sexy!
My best friend Jen walked into church last Sunday and she had these gorgeous Barbie pink lips! I asked what she was wearing and was stunned to find out it was MAC Saint Germain. Like HELLO why do I not own this lipstick?! So obviously I had to go out and grab it! Saint Germain is described as Clean Pastel Pink. It could be described as bubble gum pink, Barbie pink, its the perfect must have light pink lipstick. This is the first pink of its kind in my collection and I simply adore it!
I can’t wait to strut these shades on the beach this summer!
