I’ve owned the original formula of the Maybelline fit me foundation since last spring but I never bought the powder to go along with it. I don’t know why I waited so long to!
I have combination to oily skin. Oily in the t-zone and normal to sometimes even dry in other places. I bought the maybelline fit me foundation in the regular formula as I wanted a foundation that offered a more dewy finish with a more hydrating formula. I normally use Estée Lauder double wear foundation and as those of you who use it knows that foundation mattifies the face to the max! I find however that when the weather gets colder Estée Lauder can be a bit drying in my non t-zone area. So I went back to my maybelline fit me and found that I loved it everywhere but in my t-zone. So hence the decision to try out the matte and poreless powder!
Let’s start with the packaging
As you can see the powder is encased in a black square compact with teal wording. I personally enjoy the look of this compact. It also feels quite sturdy. It’ll survive being tossed into my makeup bag and maybe being dropped by my 17 month old.
My favourite part of this packaging is this hidden mirror and applicator under the powder. It’s such a bonus! I’ve refrained from ever buying the rimmel stay matte powders because of the not so cute or beauty friendly packaging which is a bummer because I’ve heard so many good thing about it. So thumbs up for maybelline for making a decent powder compact.
I use this as a finishing powder over my foundation. The powder is smooth and offers sheer coverage. I also didn’t experience to much fall out. As for wear time it held up great! There was a tiny bit of shine on the tip of my nose after 7 hours of wear but nothing that I felt warranted a major touch up. I actually didn’t reach for the powder all day!
It’s safe to say that I am in love with this powder and am so happy that I decided to give it a try!
What are your thoughts on the maybelline fit me line?
Until next time Lippies
