It’s been a little over 2 weeks since we rang in the new year and I already find myself having a difficult time trying to keep to my resolutions. Anyone else in my boat?
My resolutions for this year included
1. To loose 10-20lbs by the end of June
2. To become a praise team leader in church.
3. To spend more time in prayer
4. (for the life of me I cant remember!!) 😩
#2&3 I’m working on, I can’t even remember #4 but I know I had one .. 🙈I’d like to focus on #1 for this post.
Here’s my quote of the week!
I was browsing around Pinterest and this quote really stuck out to me. At the beginning of this year I was pumped to reach my goals but as the weeks have gone I find myself getting lazy or making excuses as to why I can’t get my ass to the gym. ‘Oh it’s to cold, oh I’m to tired..’ Blah blah blah I’ve been to the gym a total of 6 times these past couple weeks. Now I do have 3 daughters, an 8 year old, 4 year old and 17month old but hey we are all given the same amount of time in a day right!
If you’ve been following my blog you’d know that last year I had lost 35lbs from September of 2014 to April 2015. Since April 2015 I have gained back 9lbs that’s why my goal is to loose 10-20lbs. I am really upset with myself for gaining back some weight as I worked so hard on losing it in the first place! (Why can’t it be as easy to lose weight as it is to gain?!) Now the reason I don’t have a specific number is because I’d be happy to loose a min of 10lbs but it won’t hurt to loose more. I’m giving myself a diet and exercise routine from January to the end of June so I am hoping to loose anywhere in between 10-20lbs.
Something that I need to remind myself and you should to if losing weight is part of your resolutions is that muscle weighs more than fat. I have been doing more weight training since Sept of 2015. I need to keep in mind that the scale isn’t the only measurement of my success. Progress pictures and actual waist measurements etc is what we should base our success on.
If you’re in the same boat as me let’s remember that our only competition is ourselves! Be committed to our goals, strive to reach them even when we think we can’t. Let’s think positively and surround ourselves with supportive people. It’s a new year which means a new and improved you!
What are your New Years resolutions and have you been keeping true to them?
Until next time Lippies.
