Move aside Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) there’s a new pomade in town and her name is Kat Von D Super Brow!
I received the Kat Von D (KVD) Super Brow pomade and brow brush from Influenster for review purposes and I must say this is my favorite vox box yet!
#70 Pomade Brow Brush
Like everything else in the Kat Von D makeup up line this brush is edgy and sleek. It is an angled cut synthetic brush made just for the Kat Von D Super Brow pomade. The only quarrel that I have with this brush is that there isn’t a spooly at the end of it! How is someone who doesn’t own a spooly supposed to blend out the pomade with this brush? I have to resort to using my ABH brush which is kind of a nuisance to have to switch between the two brushes. It would have been perfect otherwise.

Product Claims

- Weightless
- Waterproof
- Budge Proof
- Saturated with as much pigment as possible.
The Packaging and Color Selection
Pakaging
The KVD Super brow packaging is similar to the ABH dipbrow. They are both encased in a circular glass container and the brand logos are showcased on the lids. Unlike the ABH dipbrow, the lid of the KVD Super brow is dependent on the color of the pomade you choose.
Color Selection
Kat Von D believes that there are no rules when it comes to makeup and she proves that with the color range of this brow line. From natural to rainbow KVD has it all with 16 shades to choose from. I was given the shade Walnut which is described to be suitable for someone with dark brown to black hair. My hair is back to its natural shade. Under the sun my hair is a dark brown otherwise for the most part it looks black. So the color that was sent to me is perfection. For reference I use the shade Ebony in both the ABH dipbrow pomade and powder duo. You can read my full review on the ABH powder duo here.
Swatches
In the above picture ABH looks darker than that of KVD when in the pan but as seen below when swatched side by side they are very similar.
The Wear Test
Just like the ABH dipbrow, the KVD Super Brow pomade is pigmented, creamy, goes on smoothly, and is blendable. I can get a good 12 hour wear with both of these pomades. What sets the KVD super brow pomade apart from the ABH dipbrow is the reaction I have to the product or rather the lack there of. Not sure if it’s just me but after a couple hours wear with the ABH dipbrow my brows actually begin to itch! Which as you can conceive is a problem. I go through the day scratching around my brows afraid to smudge them! No such problems with the KVD super brow! I can wear this all day and not think or worry about my brows!
Though I do prefer the KVD super brow to the ABH dipbrow my holy grail brow product is still the ABH powder duo in Ebony! Click here to read about my other holy grail brow products.
So there you have it my review on the Kat Von D super brow pomade compared to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow. Have you tried either of these products before? Which one is your favorite and why? If you prefer using a brow pencil check out my review on the NYX Microbrow pencil!
Until next time friends,
