1. Sunscreen
2. Dress for the weather
Wear cool clothes. Dress in lighter colours as darker colours tend to absorb the heat more. Dress in layers, here in Vancouver it can be cooler in the mornings, scorching in the afternoons and chilly in the evenings.
3. Wear a big floppy hat
Though you are lathered up with sunscreen all over your body, wearing a hat is a great way to get added sun coverage. It protects your eyes, ears, face neck and shoulders from the sun. While you’re at it throw on some sunnies as well!
4. Stay hydrated
SO IMPORTANT! Drink LOTS of water throughout the day! Dehydration can cause a whole lot of problems such as Dizziness, headaches, dry skin and mouth, thirst and more. That’s a sure fire way to ruin your day.
5. Seek out Shade
If the sun gets to hot it’s always good to seek out some shade and rest under it for a bit to cool off!
6. Take a swim at the pool or a splash at the waterpark
One way my family and I love to cool off is to hit up a pool or water park!
7. Eat fresh fruit
There’s something about eating fresh fruit on a hot summers day that’s so refreshing! In fact most fruits contain 92% water. A good way to help you stay hydrated as well!
8. Shower
If you’re at home and can’t take the heat it’s always good to hop into a cool shower to bring your body temperature down.
There you have 8 ways to beat the summer heat! What tips do you have for beating the summer heat? Let me know in the comments below 🙂
Until next time

Such good tips for cooling off in the summer!! My kids also love homemade popsicles when it’s hot out! Sometimes it’s the only way to get them to come home from the park! Lol
