Happy Fall Y’all! I LOVE Fall! The crisp mornings, the cooler days, the crunchy leaves, and the cozy decor! I finally had some time to decorate our little townhome and thought that I would share it with you. Sometimes when we have a smaller home we feel that there isn’t enough space in the home to decorate but it can actually be better as you don’t need very many decorations to make a townhome feel festive!
Outdoor Decor
Let’s begin on the outside shall we! The very first decor to greet any guest would be our door! Since we do live in a townhome I do have to be considerate of our neighbour and so I kept the Fall decor to a wreath, a cute doormat and some small pumpkins.
I purchased the wreath last year at Homesense. I love the orange and brown tones of this wreath! The pine cones, gourds and pumpkins was exactly what I was looking for. Depending on your taste, Homsense is a great place to shop for different types of wreaths!
I had a couple of quotes to choose from for this doormat but ultimately I kept coming back to “Hello Pumpkin” because if you’ve been following me on Instagram or on this Blog for sometime now you know that I LIVE for pumpkins during the Fall season! It’s such a classic quote and I really love how the word “pumpkin” is in a cursive font. Added some small pumpkins from a local grocery store and this front door decor is complete!
Coffee Table Centerpiece
I’ve got three daughters, two of which are still young and like to play around in the living room, so I wanted a centerpiece that was simple yet elegant. The circle tray mirror I found at Homesense and it really brings the vase and the candles together. Depending on the season, the candles are either white (throughout the year), orange (for fall) or sparkly red (during Christmas)! The vase I also found at Homesense and love that it has a smaller mouth so that the bouquet is held nicely. As for the flowers, I purchased these at Michaels last year during one of their buy one get one free sales.
This is my little space and what it looks like on the daily! Blankets under the side tables, photo albums, family board games and a box that holds all of our remotes under the coffee table that was custom built by myself and the hubby! The top of it also lifts up to make it easier to reach snacks when we’re watching our movies. 🙂
Fireplace and Mantle Decor
When we were looking around for houses it was important to me to have a fireplace because I love how cozy it is during the winter months. When we came across our townhome I fell in love with our fireplace and couldn’t wait to decorate it for the holidays!
So again I found most of my mantle decor at Homesense. What can I say I love it there!! This “give thanks” sign is so festive and perfect for Thanksgiving. If you haven’t already noticed my decor theme is orange tones and white so this sign just ties everything on the mantle together. The owl figurine is also from Homesense.
The garland I actually purchased from Dollarama! I put two garlands together to make it look fuller and to give it more length so that it would span the whole mantle.
On the right side of the mantle I have two candles that again were purchased at Homesense and crystal candle holders that my mom passed down to me when I moved out. Super simple, super easy decor. 🙂
Rustic Farmhouse Signs
Farmhouse decor is all the rage right now! Having that rustic feel is so homey and I am totally here for it! This sign was custom made and hand painted by yours truly and the hubby. As a side gig we build custom wood furniture and rustic signs. 🙂 You can check out more of our work here.
Originally I wanted to use this sign as part of my outdoor decor, however as you saw there isn’t much space to decorate my front door and so I decided to bring it into the house! This sign is actually reversible and on the backside we have Merry & Bright written on it for Christmas!
So there you have it, how to decorate your home for Fall! I hope you were able to take away a few ideas for making your home festive even if you are in a smaller space such as a townhome like myself. 🙂
I want to know how you decorate your house! What colour theme do you use for your decor? What decor makes you feel festive and ready to celebrate fall? Let me know in the comments below!
Until next time,
